The Star Fleet Battles World League is a team tournament run via SFB Online (SFBOL). Each team is composed of three players and each player selects a single tournament cruiser to play for the duration of the tournament.
The initial phase of the tournament is a round-robin. Each player will engage in a one-on-one battle, in turn, with players from the other teams. If there are two or three teams, each player will end up playing against each other non-teammate. If there are four teams, each player will battle two players of each opposing team. Otherwise each player will play once against a player of an opposing team.
After the round-robin, the two teams with the most points will advance to a single-elimination stage. Each player will fight one member of the opposing team. The team with the most wins, comes out on top. If there's a tie for the second place team, going into the finals, then the first team to complete their battles will be selected.

Team Selection
After the sign-up period has ended, All players will be placed on a list and certain players will be selected as Team Lead. Team leads will be selected by first-come-first-serve basis, except if the prospective team lead gives up the offer (presumably so that they could to be on the team of another player.) The Team leads will take turns selecting (draft) the remaining players for their teams, until all teams are full and there are 0-2 players left on the list. There is no other benefit to being a Team lead. Remaining players may be placed on a standby list.
Players will select their ships once the know what the teams are. Team names will be selected at this time, as well.
Tournament Rules and Ships
All matches use the standard published tournament rules and currently sanctioned tournament ships. Playtest or experimental ships are not presently allowed. Any question regarding ship legality or rule interpretation will be decided by the Tournament Director.
Note the following:
• The Federation with the G-rack is used.
• The Andromedan with two TRHs and three batteries is used.
• No ship may not select more than one gatling phaser to fill it's option mounts.
Tournament Communication
Most tournament communication will take place in email. Players are encouraged to copy the Tournament Director on scheduling emails so progress can be monitored if needed. Discord and the Legacy BBS are the preferred places to post things of interest to the whole group of players.
Games in Progress at the Deadline
If a match started before the round deadline the players may finish the game. Players have three additional days to complete the game. If it remains unfinished the Tournament Director may adjudicate the result. If a match was never started the match will be scored as a no-show.
Reporting Results
After a match is completed the winner should report the result in email. Screenshots or battle summaries are welcome in Discord or the Legacy BBS, but are not required.
Player Withdrawal
If a player withdraws they will be replaced from the standby list, if appropriate. If not replaced, then the remaining matches scheduled with the missing player will be scored as a no-show.
Sportsmanship
Players are expected to conduct themselves respectfully. Verbal abuse, harassment, or personal attacks will not be tolerated.
Disputes and Rulings
The Tournament Director resolves disputes. If the Director is involved in a dispute another player will review the issue and make the ruling.
